Sups My Peeps

It's been a while since I've taken a whiff of blogging, so I've decided to follow my sister's footsteps and revive my little space of online expression.

To sum up basically all of second semester I have three points:

-Popularity Boost

-Disney Channel-esque Drama

-Diet, Diet, DIET!

For some odd reason, in January I had the decision to loose all of my excess flub. All of it. It's been a long road, but I'm at the halfway point. I started about 280, and now I'm about 225. 55 pounds of loss! I'd like to say that it was really hard, but actually, it wasn't too tough. I mean, sure I couldn't eat a million oreos while chugging a two liter of sprite like I used to, but in actuality it was just a simple change of diet and exercise. I still have a lot to lose, about 50 more pounds of my indulgence of sugar, but I have Cross Country this summer to help with that.

When you loose weight, and an excess at that, girls tend to see you differently than normal. They actually start to see an acceptable guy to flirt with. And when girls start to flirt with you, and your popularity starts to rise, drama likes to tag along for the ride. I've found that Facebook has done more to chew my life than cook it into a tasty stew of social access. :3

But on the bright side, I was nominated as Court Warming King, my date (who asked me btw) is one of the prettiest girls in the school, and school itself is almost over! :)

(Court Warming Picture, the girl next to me is my date. This was at 20 Pounds Weight Loss)

Thankfullness Jylez

It's that time of year again. It's the time that we all stuff our selves of food, then stay up til five in the morning (while eating) and go to get all those black friday goodies. It's also that time of year when we think of what were thankful for, so here is my list:

10. I'm thankful for a mom who makes me scrub toilets with a toothbrush, so when I grow up, I'll know what brands of tooth brushes work best. :3

9. I'm thankful for Thrift Stores, in which, if none existed, our house would've been clean ages ago. Darn dollar days at Savers.

8. I'm thankful for Ramen Noodles, Macaroni, and boxed cereal, all of which have been overly helpful when I babysit.

7. I'm thankful for Seminary, that way I have an excuse for my teachers if I fail a test. :P (Bro C. ate my homework.)

6. I'm thankful for Volkswagen and Oldsmobile, for supplying us with old cars that seem to last through thick and thin.

5. I'm thankful for youtube, who has given me the gift of entertainment since Abel has been gone.

4. I'm thankful for friends who understand my morals and treat me with respect. Thanks guys!

3. I'm thankful for amazing brothers and sisters, and I hope you guys have an awesome thanksgiving. :D

2. I 'm thankful for the missionaries, who without, would mean the gospel wouldn't be so widely known.

1. I'm thankful for amazing parents, and even though I may not be the best kid in the world, they still keep on supporting me. Love ya guys!

Now go eat something!

Fandom etc.

What do you do when you have nothing to do, have a night of babysitting, and youtube? Well, you watch movies for free! The past few months that I've seen many a movie, and these are my top Three out of all of them.

3.

Coraline

- Coraline is probably one of my favorite animated movies (claymation) , following after Nightmare Before Christmas, and Anastasia. Like many of Tim Burton's movies, it has very strange, staccato like music that is pleasing to hear, coinciding with amazing animation and a creepy esque plot. Coraline, basically in a nut shell, is about a girl who dreams of a better life after moving to a new home, and as such, finds a secret passage in her new home. After entering the passage, she enters an alternate universe, which her parents, her life, and everything is perfect. The only problem is, everyone there, has buttons for eyes. Every time she visits this world, she has fun, then sleeps, waking up the next morning to her original life. During the movie, you find that a girl, a century before, also lived there, but unfortunately, tragically dissapeared. Coraline, ignoring the danger of this doorway, continues to visit, wishing she could stay there forever. On a certain visit, Coraline's alternate other presents her with a box, in which, contained two buttons. She said that if Coraline sewed these into her own eyes, she'd be able to stay....I don't want to spoil the ending, but, if you like a nice, suspenseful movie that's clean, Coraline is an excellent choice.

2.

Battle Royale

-Unlike most movies I watch, Battle Royale is one of the few that is very, very gory. It's so much so, that I had to get the edited version from a friend to cut out the vulgarity and the explicit battle scenes that were just too much. But, even so, this movie was quite interesting. I enjoyed every minute! If you have read the new novel, "The Hunger Games," You'll have an idea of what the movie might be like. Battle Royale sets iteself in modern, to futuristic Japan, in which every year, the government randomly chooses one 9th Grade class to participate in the BR movement. They are drugged, and set on an island, in which, they are forced to kill each other to survive. In the end only one can win, and after the three day time limit, if more than one is alive, the explosive collars around their necks detonate, killing them all. I wouldn't watch this film if you aren't into martial art's movies. This one, especially gruesome, might be too much. But if you are lucky enough to find an edited version of the movie, I'd recommend it just because it's an amazing movie.

1.

Treeless Mountain

-I'm not much for drama, or any of that nonsense, but I will say, this movie was one of the best films I've ever seen in my life. Treeless Mountain, much like the animated movie Grave of the Fireflies, sets itself in China, where two girls must fight their way through a new, and untame world, saving every coin to put in their piggy bank.

Jin, a 6 year old with the mind of a young adult, is unfairly thrown into the turmoil of the world, when her mother leaves to find her father, giving them to their Alcoholic Aunt, who has the same capacity to take care of children as a Monkey. Jin, unknowing of the future, has two tasks to appease. One, take care of her naive even younger sister Bin, and two, fill up a piggy bank her mother has given them; and once the bank is filled, her mother stated that she would return.

In this amazing film, Jin and Bin struggle through hardships, including having to eat grasshoppers for food as their aunt is too drunk to provide it herself. Through the movie, Jin and Bin meet several people, only few ever being kind to them. At the very beginning of their move, the two sisters meet a middle aged woman living down the road from them, taking care of her son who has Down syndrome. The two girls quickly become fond of the family, often visiting them to have fun, and to eat sweets.

After several days of realization that maybe they'd never see their mother again, Jin and Bin look to their piggy bank for hope, collecting Grass Hoppers and selling them to make change to fill the plastic container with. After many weeks of hard collecting, they fill the bank, and run to the bus stop, awaiting the arrival of their mother. But, as you may predict, they wait only to see bus after bus arrival, their mother not emerging from any of the. Even less hopeful than the beginning, the two girls must find hope and happiness in life, even when the world around them, just seems to keep crashing it into the ground.

BTW, Bucky, I really want you to see this film because the two girls remind me so much of S, L, and X! Primarily because Bin seems to constantly wear her princess gown the whole movie, refusing to take it off! xD

More?...

As some of my family might know now (due to the posts on both of my sister's blogs), my mom has recently made the pledge to clean the house of all it's craptastic contents. Unfortunately, this means, I have to help my ... "roller-coaster" like mom through all this. Lemme break down a conversation I might have with my mom when cleaning a portion of the house:

Mom: Son, can you pick up the trash by the door?

Me: Sure mom. (runs to go grab the dust collecting pile of old Pokemon cards and pencils)

Mom:(2 seconds afterward) Also, take out the trash, and make sure to open the lid before you put it in!

Me: (While still rummaging the crap by the door into a bag) Okay mom.

Mom: (11 seconds later) Also, bathe Flint! And make sure to brush and shave him, BEFORE you shower him.

Me: MOM! (while taking the garbage out to the can) I'm still doing this!

Mom: Hurry up! You still have to hook up the T.V., and wash my work clothes!

Me: (in a slower, much more annoyed pace) Mom, OKAY!

Mom: (5 minutes later) Wow, you are so slow!

Me: (After finishing the above listed in less than 5 minutes) Thanks mom...thanks...

Although that may be exaggerated a tad, that is A LOT like how things have been running down lately. And, although I'm hating every moment of this, I'm starting to like the way the house is turning out. As my sisters are sure to know, mom has a...hmm...habit of buying things, in many case, a surplus of pastries, or holiday napkins, based on the clearance price. So, it's nice to know I can finally invite my friends over to spend the night, without fearing one of them might find a year old muffin in the cupboard.

So, to end this post, I'd like to list 10 things I've learned about mom, family, and life the past 2 months since I've been back from AZ.

10. A.D. call's at the most unreasonable times...for instance, 10 minutes before I leave for Seminary.

9. Mom is, undeniably, bipolar in times of cleaning and painting.

8. Everyone should be more like Abel, according to mom.

7. Even at the worst peaks of cleaning, Flint always seems to cheer me up with his funny jokes! Thanks bud!

6. Relating to the above number, Flint positively, knows EVERY Christmas song, and Disney song ever made.

5. Many people at Seminary are impossible to reason with, and as such, makes them the best people to laugh at.

4. Donuts, plus Pizza, plus Chinese Food, plus Australian cheese crackers, and Fizzy Aldis Soda mixed together, is not yummy.

3. Mom is awesome when she isn't working! For some reason, she always feels the need to buy little snacks for us, which is amazing after a hard days painting and cleaning.

2. The people at the thrift store must hate us. We went shopping there for some pants and light fixtures, and I'm positive that almost all the clothes in the store, was ours.

1. Having Sonny donate half of your good clothes by "accident" is not fun...at all.

P.S. Adrian and Bucky, your guys' blogs are so funny to read! xD

List of Annoyances Part 1

So, the past week has been interesting. I've seen some amazing things on the internet, at school, and at seminary. But, with every amazing/cool thing, there is two equal and sometimes utterly worse annoying things to top it. Here is my top five list of annoyances.

1. When people actually think that the little item at the end of an infomercial is actually free.
Example:
"If you call in the next four minutes, we'll add two chic garden gnomes, and a spatula! A $60 value!"

2. (As Said by Haley Ghoover) Rosie O'Donnel. Enough Said.

3. That laugh in the back of a sitcom that seems to drown out any sad scene...thanks Disney Channel for ruining the world of sitcoms. Thanks. (Still has a secret crush on Raven Symone' nevertheless.)

4. That awkward silence after a funny joke that no one can seem to top. For some reason, this erks me, and will haunt me to my death...curse you day time talk shows! (You'll get it if you are forced to watch Dr. Oz, like I am)

5. Twilight. I cannot stand the fact that people think Harry Potter is not as good as Twilight...yeah, and I'm the queen of England(sarcasm, if you didn't know. xD). Harry Potter will forever reign as my favorite book series(besides the B.O.M.) until I kick the bucket.

Here is my conclusion to the fact that Harry Potter beats Twilight.

If Harry>Voldemort
Voldemort>Cedric
Cedric=Edward
Than that concludes that Harry>Edward. Harry Potter wins!

Seminary, EFY, and Summer Planning...

This feels so strange! I haven't posted, or seen my blog in decades...well, a few months. Fortunately, after a few conscience calls, and a couple of nudges from Adriane, I'm going to try to update every week or two. (Mainly because I figured out my password, which is r....oh dang, my keyboard just jammed!)

(fixed)
First off, I'd just like to say that if it wasn't for Abel, I doubt that seminary would be any fun. Of course, he's out in Hannah Montana ville right now, but nevertheless, all of his jokes about my classmates still ring true in my head all day. Well, I still love the spiritual aspect of seminary as well, though, laughing at other people's misfortunes has made it all the easier to go in the morning.

Efy...man. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited for it. Abel went to SOAR(another youth program for lds high schoolers) a couple years back, and said it was the best week of his life. Hopefully, EFY will be the same for me. I can just imagine sitting in my dorm, not having to hear mom yelling at me to do the laundry, or plunge the toilet. Not to mention, I'll actually get to do something social, instead of baby sitting 100% of the time. Now I actually understood what you went through babysitting us Adriane! Sorry I was such a muli!

Summer. Papa(dad's new name since I see him as an Italian mobster) say's that he's going to plant a tomato garden in his new backyard at his new house in July. I dunno if this will conflict with the Kern reunion in Branson, but it really brought a smile to my face knowing that instead of going to my friends house to lay down and play video games 24/7 (like a normal teenager) I'm going to be planting tomato plants, and sell them overly under priced. ^^ Even though this is going to be a little tiresome, it's still going to be an awesome summer, and I can't wait to get to St. Johns and see all my friends and family! (But most of all, I want to get my permit! Woohoo!!)

Love you guys!
